Polostan

The first in a promised trilogy, Polostan finds Stephenson returning to sprawling historical fiction. Intricately researched, the book follows Dawn Rae Bjornberg, raised by anarchist cowboys and eventually groomed as a KGB spy. Fans of Stephenson's Baroque Cycle will find much to like, though this is just a prelude to a hopefully enjoyable series.
