How do I get a class set of books?

Class set of books are not available at this time. Students can use their Student Success Cards to place holds and pick up books from LAPL branches.

How do I get e-books for my students?

You can find e-books on our e-media page.

How can I get Student Success Cards for my students?

All LAUSD students have Student Success Cards unless they are newly enrolled for the 2020-2021 academic year. If a student doesn't know their library card number or PIN, they can contact us and we’ll look up that information.

If you teach at a non-LAUSD charter school, parochial, or private school email us to get your students a Student Success Card.

Where can my students or I pick up materials?

You and your students can use your Student Success Cards to place books on hold and pick them up at LAPL branches.

My student lost their Student Success Card. How can they get their card information?

Students can fill out this form and they will get an email with their card information.

How to support the Library

You can support the Los Angeles Public Library in several ways:

Join a “Friends” group. There is a “Friends of the Library” group for most branch libraries and departments of the Central Library. Friends groups raise money for improvements to their library through memberships, used book sales and other activities. For more information click here or talk to your local librarian.

Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs. Foundation members receive a variety of benefits with their membership. For more information, see http://www.lfla.org.
