Participant(s) Bio

Christina Rice

Christina Rice began her career with the Los Angeles Public Library in 2005 and has been the Senior Librarian of the library's historic photo collection since 2009. She has curated multiple library exhibitions, including LAPL150: Our Story is Yours (2023) and Life on a String: The Yale Puppeteers and the Turnabout Theatre (2021). She is the author of Central Library POPS! (Angel City Press, 2026), Mean...Moody...Magnificent! Jane Russell and the Marketing of a Hollywood Legend (University Press of Kentucky, 2021) and Ann Dvorak Hollywood's Forgotten Rebel (University Press of Kentucky, 2013). 

Keith Kesler and Krystal Ruiz

Keith Kesler has been the Social Media Librarian at Los Angeles Public Library since 2016. His work has been featured in the NY TimesL.A. TimesWashington PostPeopleSports Illustrated, and many other publications. Most notably, he produced the video for the Linda Linda’s "Racist Sexist Boy," which reached over 20 million people and won two Webby Awards.  

Krystal Ruiz has been a Public Relations Specialist at the Los Angeles Public Library since 2022. Her primary focus is to inform Angelenos of the endless possibilities available inside the Library's do-it-yourself makerspace, Octavia Lab. In addition to her role as a Public Relations Specialist, she also creates original content for the various @lapubliclibrary social media channels. 

Sheridan Jay Cazarez

Moderator: Sheridan Jay Cazarez is a librarian in the Exploration & Creativity Department at the Los Angeles Public Library. He's presented on bilingual early literacy programming, translation practices, and labor advocacy at the REFORMA National, California Library Association, Seguimos Creando Enlaces, and American Library Association conferences. Find his original translations of songs and rhymes for young children on his website, Bibliocuentos.com.
