About the Event
Varanasi stands as one of India's holiest destinations, where millions gather to seek spiritual purification in the Ganges River. Life on the Ganges captures the city during the vibrant festival of Dev Diwali. Through the perspective of a local boatman, the film explores the deep connection between the sacred river and those whose livelihoods depend on it.
Life on the Ganges, directed by Indira Somani, will be followed by two additional short films - Sons of Shiva (dir. Akos Ostor) and In the Footsteps of Buddha: The Path to Buddha’s Enlightenment (dir. Jon Braeley).
