DIY Archives: Info Session

About the Event

Explore the DIY archiving resources available at the Sun Valley Branch! You can reserve time with the Epson Expression 13000XL to scan photographs, negatives, and more. Learn how you can check out an oral history backpack, with a Zoom recorder and guide to help you get started on your own archiving project.

Join us at the new DIY Scanning Station to learn about these resources.  In-person sessions are hands-on, with opportunity for guided demonstrations around a specific focus area listed below.

  • July 15 – oral histories/audio
  • July 29 – letters, scrapbooks, zines
  • August 5 – photo preservation
  • August 19 – oral histories/audio

Drop in any time between 2pm and 3pm. No prior knowledge or experience with an archival scanner or Zoom recorder necessary. Collage & paper materials available at each session for a screen free interlude.

This is an in-person session. For virtual sessions, RSVP on our Eventbrite page.

The Los Angeles Public Library offers this workshop as part of Community: Your Archive, Your Legacy, an initiative supported by the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and funded by the Mellon Foundation.
