Nova Community Arts Presents: Long Stitch Bookmaking

Come learn how to hand sew a soft cover book using the Long Stitch method of binding with Nova Community Arts. You'll get to choose the color and look of your cover, your thread, and (optionally) add a cool charm to your binding. You'll leave with your very own book that makes a great sketchbook, planner, or notebook!

This is a hands-on, in-person activity where participants will learn bookbinding skills as they hand stitch together their own soft cover book. We will provide all materials needed to make the books, including papers, thread, bone folders, needles, and charms.

The Octavia Lab is a do-it-yourself maker space located inside the Los Angeles Public Library's historic Central Library.
