About the Event
Directed by Andrzej Wajda, the 1983 historical drama Danton depicts the final weeks of Georges Danton, a charismatic French revolutionary who returns to Paris in 1793 to stop the Reign of Terror. He clashes with his former ally, the icy and ascetic Maximilien Robespierre, ultimately leading to a rigged show trial and the guillotine.
