We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming beginner's Argentine Tango dance instruction program. No prior dance experience is required to participate.
 

Musical Beginnings for Young Composers is taught by Grammy winning instructor Carl Protho and is aimed at children ages 6 to 18.  It offers a comprehensive yet fundamental overview of the components of music composition. 

Come make a zine and help build our collection in this monthly creative art lab. Zine content can be personal, political, niche, artistic, or purely visual—there are no rules and no experience is necessary. Join the Friends of Silver Lake Library (FoSLL) Sewing Club and learn the fundamentals of sewing using a machine! All materials provided and no prior experience is required.

Learn basic machine sewing, bring your own project or alteration, and get help from an experienced sewist!

"Free Sew" Sessions, offered by the Friends of Silver Lake Library (FoSLL) Sewing Club, are unstructured, "office hour" style workshops where you can bring your own projects, ideas, or mends/alterations. Sewing machines will be available to use independently, or you can solicit help and tips from an experienced sewist.

RSVP is not required for these sessions, but helps with capacity expectations and resource planning. Please reach out to fosllsewingclub@gmail.com with any questions.

Back to school week can be overwhelming, so we're hosting a trivia tournament to destress and have some fun!

Compete for prizes by answering questions in categories like music, film, literature, geography, and more. Teens ages 11-19 (still in high school if 19) are welcome to join and will earn community service hours for participating if registered as a volunteer.

Pizza and refreshments will be generously provided by the Friends of Silver Lake Library (FoSLL).
