DIY Papermaking
About the Event
Learn basic papermaking techniques utilizing recycled paper materials found around the home such as junk mail, old homework, newspapers or a variety of almost any kind of paper. Our presenter will discuss the materials and basic equipment as well as demonstrate step-by-step how to create pulp and use a screen to create handmade paper. Participants will make small sheets of unique handmade paper as well as use the paper pulp created to make "seed bombs," adding seeds of local native plants to their pulp.
Teens, adults, and children 5 and up (ages 5-7 must be accompanied by a caregiver) are welcome!
This program was made possible with the generous support of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.
