About the Event

Roland Emmerich outdoes himself with his latest star-studded if scientifically dubious disaster epic, Moonfall (2022, rated PG-13). A mysterious force has dislodged the Moon from its orbit and sent it hurtling inexorably on a collision course with planet Earth. With mere weeks to impact and the world on the brink of annihilation (the visuals of the massive moon menacing various land and seascapes are pretty fun), NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Halle Berry) thinks she may have discovered the key to save us all—but only two people believe her, a fellow astronaut and a conspiracy theorist. Our unlikely trio mounts an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love—only to discover that the Moon is not what we thought it was. Outrageous ham and lunar green cheese for all.
