History of Mexican Rebozo

About the Event

Join us for The History of the Mexican Rebozo and explore the evolution and cultural significance of the rebozo, a versatile garment resembling a cross between a scarf and a shawl, cherished by women in Mexico and worldwide. The event features a display of rare rebozos, a fashion show, and demonstrations on the many ways to wear this iconic textile. Spanning from pre-Hispanic to the present, the rebozo is influenced by the Mexican Revolution and the arts, making it a symbol of life’s stages. Attendees will also enjoy songs, recitations, audience participation in modeling, and hands-on weaving demonstrations.
