About the Event

Join our monthly book discussion led by a different member of our staff and the book of their choice. Check out The Library Book by Susan Orlean and join the discussion.
Susan Orlean explores the mysterious 1986 Los Angeles Public Library fire, the largest library fire in U.S. history, which destroyed 400,000 books and damaged 700,000 more. Through the story of the fire, the history of libraries, and her own love of books, she highlights why libraries are so important to society.
