About the Event
Marlaya’s Poetry Theatre Workshop offers interactive experiences that introduce children and young adults to the fun, creativity, and expressive possibilities of poetry.
During the performance, Marlaya presents clever and funny poems that invite the audience to become part of the show. Before performing each piece, she displays the poem and its illustration on an 18" x 24" poster board for easy viewing. Depending on the poem, one or two children may be invited to the front to participate, or the entire group may join in the action. Costumes and props are also incorporated into some of the poems
For disability-related accommodations, please call (213) 228-7430 at least five business days prior to the event. The City will make every effort to accommodate requests received with less notice.
