About the Event

Do you have a personal or family archive you’d like to preserve but don’t know where to begin? Have you considered digitizing your collections and need a jump start? Join us for an afternoon of digitization and personal archiving in the History Department. Scanning Stations are available by appointment (20-minutes) for a digitization session and consultation with an archivist. Learn about the breadth of genealogy and personal archiving resources available at LAPL.

For more information and to sign up for a 20-minute time slot: Scanning Station Sign-Up. Note: While we aim to take extra care of your materials, if something is especially precious, we encourage you to take extra precaution when travelling with the item or keep it at home to guarantee no damage or loss.

The Los Angeles Public Library offers this program as part of a month-long series centering personal archiving, presented by Community: Your Archive, Your Legacy, an initiative supported by the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and funded by the Mellon Foundation.

For disability-related accommodations, please call (213) 228-7430 at least five business days prior to the event. The City will make every effort to accommodate requests received with less notice.
