Randle P. McMurphy is sent to a psychiatric hospital, where he challenges the strict Nurse Ratched and her controlling rules. His rebellious spirit inspires the other patients to find courage and stand up for themselves. His friendship with Chief Bromden becomes especially meaningful as Bromden gains confidence. As McMurphy’s resistance grows, so does the conflict with Nurse Ratched, leading to a tragic ending.
