About the Event

The origins of contemporary drum circles in North America can be traced back to Congo Square in New Orleans, a pivotal site in the history of American music.

Participants will learn how to implement the open and bass tones on the drums while building, maintaining, and growing a strong rhythm. Drums and percussion instruments are provided. No previous drumming experience is needed.

This program is generously sponsored by the Sherman Oaks Friends of the Library.

For disability-related accommodations, please call (213) 228-7430 at least five business days prior to the event. The City will make every effort to accommodate requests received with less notice.
