LA Made Presents: Día de los Muertos Paper Flower Workshop

About the Event

Marigolds, also known as cempazúchitl and flor de muerto (flower of the dead), are one of the most recognizable icons of Día de los Muertos. For Día de los Muertos, marigolds are often seen decorating altars. The vibrant color and distinct smell of their petals guide the spirits of loved ones from their resting places to the ofrendas and their families.

In this workshop, learn how to create your own traditional paper marigolds used to decorate altars.

This LA Made program was made possible with the generous support of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

For disability-related accommodations, please call (213) 228-7430 at least five business days prior to the event.
