Film Screening: Freakier Friday

Twenty-two years after Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis swapped bodies in 2003’s Freaky Friday, the hijinks are back with a vengeance in Freakier Friday (2025, rated PG). Anna is all grown up and working as a music producer, raising her teenage daughter Harper as a single parent with the help of her mother Tess. When Anna meets Eric, the widowed father of Harper’s school friend Lily, sparks fly, and soon they’re engaged. But will Anna and Eric move back to London with Lily, breaking up the family? At Anna’s bachelorette party, the four women have their palms read by the supposed psychic Madame Jen – then there’s a mysterious earthquake that only they can feel, and presto, Anna has switched bodies with Harper and Tess with Lily. Having been through this before, Anna and Tess counsel Harper and Lily to play it cool until they can switch back. But that’s easier said than done, as the wild mishaps and blurted revelations start piling up. Can everyone get back to a less freaky situation before it’s too late? TGIF!
