About the Event

Join us for an afternoon of poetry and conversation with poets Alicia Viguer-Espert and Diosa Xochiquetzalcóatl.

The poets will read their poetry in both English and Spanish, and will share the meaning and significance of their poems. A Q&A with the audience will follow.

Alicia Viguer-Espert, a native of Valencia, Spain, was born into a Castilian/Valencian bilingual family. After marrying an American and moving to Los Angeles, Alicia learned English quickly. She has a Master's in Psychology and studied creative writing in English. Her writing has been published in journals, anthologies, and her three chapbooks. 



Diosa Xochiquetzalcóatl is a multilingual poet with a B.A. in English and M.Ed. in Cross-Cultural Teaching. As an educator of English learners and immigrants, Diosa X defends human rights and linguistic rights, especially of marginalized groups. Her work has appeared in both English and Spanish in various publications, and she has authored seven poetry collections.
