The San Fernando Valley: America's Suburb, shines a spotlight on an incredible amount of history spread over a 260 square mile area. The book's author, Kevin Roderick, goes beyond the epic floods and devastating earthquakes (though he covers those too) and shares the stories of town builders, movie people, car clubs, the disappearance of the Valley's once thriving agricultural scene, and at least one cult.
Trust me, you'll definitely learn something about the Valley that you didn't already know.
