Test: Notification Message Types

Navigation & Setup

To create a new notification, follow these steps in the CMS:

  1. Go to the Top Menu.
  2. Select Notification message.
  3. You will see the List of notifications.
  4. Fill in the Labels field (this is the name of your notification).

Notification Types

Choose the appropriate format based on where the message needs to appear:

  • In Page: Displays within the body of a specific page.
  • Closure: Specially formatted for building or branch closures.
  • Site Header: Displays prominently at the very top of the website across multiple pages.

Alert Types & Usage Guidelines

Use the color-coded alert types strictly according to the urgency of the situation:

🟢 Status (Green)

  • Usage: For general, non-urgent information or standard updates.
  • Frequency: Not often used.

🟠 Warning (Orange)

  • Usage: For upcoming, planned events or disruptions.
  • Standard Context: Used in tandem with Site Headers to announce upcoming planned branch or library closures.

🔴 Error (Red)

  • Usage: For critical, real-time disruptions.
  • Standard Context: Used to announce an in-progress branch closure (e.g., sudden emergencies, maintenance, or active unexpected closures).
