About the Event

The Venice Abbot Kinney Memorial Branch Library invites the community to explore and engage with our newly designed Youth Sensory Space! Sensory spaces promote calm, focus, and relaxation for youth who are neurodivergent or who have sensory issues.

Our Grand Opening Ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. featuring remarks from special guest speakers, including John Szabo, City Librarian.

At 2:00 p.m., Coco Atama, a motivational speaker, will deliver an inspirational talk sharing their experiences as a blind and autistic skateboarder. With a skateboard demonstration to follow in Centennial Park.

Activities for kids and teens include a sensory storytime with adaptive crafts, cookies from Levain Bakery, and another interactive programming! Be the first to try out our new adaptive technology, which includes our exclusive reader's pens and sensory kits.

Join us for a day of family fun!

For disability-related accommodations, please call (213) 228-7430 at least five business days prior to the event.
