LA Nature Quest 2026: Wildlife Crossing Engineering Challenge
About the Event
What does it take to help wildlife safely cross a busy road? Kids will learn about real wildlife crossings and then become engineers themselves. Working in teams, they’ll design, build, test, and improve a crossing for a wild animal. Come ready to experiment, problem-solve, and get creative!
Join us Oct. 1 - 31, 2026, for LA Nature Quest! This program builds on four successful years of the LA BioBlitz Challenge, expanding our mission to protect the wildlife of Los Angeles. Join the quest to photograph animals, insects, and plants in your neighborhood and help scientists gather valuable information about biodiversity across the city.
LA Nature Quest is an exciting collaboration between the Los Angeles Public Library’s Neighborhood Science Initiative, L.A. Sanitation & Environment’s Biodiversity Program, Los Angeles Recreation and Parks, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
