Coming This October

East of Eden by John Steinbeck

John Steinbeck’s East of Eden is the epic tale of two intertwined families in the rich farmland of Salinas Valley. Spanning multiple generations, the story mirrors the tale of Cain and Abel, contrasting good and evil, innocence and depravity, and emphasizing each person’s ability to choose their own path in life.

The limited series starring Florence Pugh will be released on Netflix on October 1.

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

After their father's death, the Dashwood sisters and their mother must leave their family estate and move to a humble cottage in Devon. As the two very different sisters encounter love and loss, they learn that they must use both their hearts and their minds to make the right match.

The ninth cinematic adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esme Creed-Miles, will be released in theaters on October 16.

Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

Klara, an artificial friend powered by the sun, waits patiently for a young boy or girl to pick her out and take her home. When that happy day arrives, Klara learns there are more complicated things in the lives of humans than she can possibly understand. The star-studded film adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s best-selling novel Klara and the Sun will be released in theaters on October 23.

Verity by Colleen Hoover

A struggling writer lands a dream job - completing the unfinished manuscripts of the bestselling, and now disabled, author Verity Crawford. When she accidentally uncovers the chilling manuscript for Verity’s autobiography, she struggles with keeping the disturbing information confidential. Starring Anne Hathaway, Josh Hartnett, and Dakota Johnson, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Verity will be released in theaters on October 2, 2026.

Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman

As her parents’ marriage deteriorates, eight-year-old Bela befriends an odd entity that lives in her closet, which she calls Other Mommy. Other Mommy desperately wants to enter Bela’s heart. Though her parents laugh it off as an imaginary friend, Other Mommy is very real and very persuasive. As her daily life becomes more difficult and her family is pushed to the brink, Bela begins to think that maybe she should let Other Mommy in after all. The film adaptation of Josh Malerman’s Incidents Around the House, being released under the title Other Mommy, will open in theaters on October 9, 2026.
