AAPI Joy Youth Writing Contest

The Los Angeles Public Library presents the AAPI Joy 2026 Youth Writing Contest sponsored by Hyundai to promote literacy and strengthen connections across cultures, generations, and experiences.

The contest is open to students residing in Los Angeles County or going to school in Los Angeles.

Calling all Los Angeles students and teachers!

Inspired by this summer’s World Cup and looking ahead to the 2027 Super Bowl and 2028 Olympics, students are invited to enter our citywide poetry contest with a poem about soccer, the world’s game. Teachers, share this opportunity with your students.
