Animal Adaptations: Desert Survival

About the Event

How do animals survive in a place that is hot, dry, and full of challenges? Explore how desert animals stay cool, find food and water, and protect themselves from predators. Through stories, movement, discussion, and a hands-on activity, children will discover how adaptations help animals survive and then create their own desert animal with special traits to help it thrive. Join Adalgisa Nico, one of the authors of Bringing National Parks to Life, a children’s book series, who will read from one of the titles.

For disability-related accommodations, please call (213) 228-7430 at least five business days prior to the event. The City will make every effort to accommodate requests received with less notice.
