Review:

Life is full of ups and downs. But sometimes, one focuses only on the downs, falling into a rabbit hole of negativity. A primary example of a "down" is heartbreak. Heartbreak comes in many forms, and all these forms hurt an individual physically and mentally.

How To Fix A Broken Heart addresses two types of heartbreak: one from a romantic relationship, such as a boyfriend or girlfriend, and the other from losing a beloved pet. The reason for focusing on these two forms of heartbreak is that most people do not understand the seriousness of the pain arising from losing a non-human companion or the feeling of someone leaving simply because they were not interested in you anymore. Guy Winch explains how to cope with these heartbreaks by sharing his patients' stories and how they eventually let go of their burdens.

What I truly enjoyed about this book is the fact that people explore multiple situations and scenarios on how they begin to heal from a broken heart. Like many others, I also went through heartbreak, and reading through this book made me wish it was in my hands earlier when I was going through that pain. Reading this book, I learned how to cope with a broken heart in the future and now know how to help those I love the next time I see signs of heartbreak.

Truly, this book is for everyone. Winch is quite comical and writes in a formal yet easily understandable style. Whether you would like to help someone who is feeling the adverse effects of a broken heart or need to heal by yourself, this book is for you.
