Review:

The Awakening is about Edna Pontellier who has everything that she has ever wanted in life. Edna is a mother of two children with a very loving husband. He cares dearly for her, and he provides her with a comfortable lifestyle. Yet, Edna complains that her life is difficult because she has responsibilities, and she believes there is something missing from her life.

Even though Edna has a loving and caring husband, she thinks he does not love her. As a result, she decides to cheat on him with some Playboy (and she seduces additional men!). But in reality, you can tell that Edna is just someone who got bored with her life, and she decided to make up reasons for cheating on her husband. Edna is playing the victim, and she fails miserably.

The Awakening is one of the slowest-paced books I ever read. This book is frustrating! Out of all the books I have read, this book is the one I hate the most. Edna is a spoiled child who never suffered in life, and she does not know what she has. I would not recommend this book at all. It is just a waste of time.
