Episode Summary
Karen Jo Shapiro reads a selection of poems from her book, \"I Must Go Down to the Beach Again and Other Poems\".

Participant(s) Bio
I have been writing poems since I was in second grade. As a kid, I loved to get comfortable and read a good book-still one of my most fun things to do! I have two published poetry books, "I Must Go Down to the Beach Again" and "Because I Could Not Stop My Bike". They are both filled with silly poems and are published by Charlesbridge.

I like to get ideas for my poems while I walk in the woods. Then comes the hard work of writing and rewriting them at the computer until they are just right! My day-time job is as a psychologist- I work with all kinds of people to help them have better lives. I am also a mom and live with my husband, daughter Elina, and son David in Greensboro, NC.
