Teen Read Week™ is a national adolescent literacy initiative created by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). It began in 1998 and is held annually in October. Its purpose is to encourage teens to be regular readers and library users. This year’s event is October 8 - 14, featuring the theme “Unleash Your Story," and will be celebrated at thousands of public libraries, classrooms, and bookstores across the country.

We will be celebrating here at the Los Angeles Public Library, so grab a book from your local branch, try out an e-book or audiobook and start reading! Here are some suggestions from our catalog of awesome new YA Fiction titles that will keep you busy reading this week and all year long.
