Summer vacation is almost over, and it will soon be time to go back to school. Did you enjoy the Summer Reading Challenge? Did you complete it? For me, reading lots of fun books, and having lots of fun experiences, makes for a nice summer, don't you agree?

National Coloring Book Day is recognized annually on August 2. Coloring and coloring books have always been popular with children, but in the last few years, adults have gotten in on the act, and a whole cottage industry of coloring books for grown-ups have cropped up.
July 17 is the 63 anniversary of Disneyland's opening day. This Disney loving librarian is planning on celebrating and won't be the only one either; it will probably be super crowded, and there will be lots of other pass holders eager to commemorate the day.
LGBTQ themes are not foreign to the manga universe, and in fact, have been around for decades. The most widely read genres of LGBTQ manga are “Boy’s Love” (BL) and “Girl’s Love” (GL). The Japanese express these words in floral terms: “Bara” (Roses) for BL, and “Yuri” (Lilies) for GL.
