If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times—the book was better! There's nothing like debating the differences between a favorite book and its translation to the screen. But if you don't know your beloved series is coming out as a movie, or that the fun looking preview you saw was adapted from a book, how can you join the debate? The library is here to the rescue! Here we will be exploring the movie adaptations soon to hit your local theatres and give you the chance to read before you view.

Coming This January

Fifteen year old Lina’s life is torn apart when the Soviet secret police break down the door to her family home and send her, her mother and her brother to a work camp in Siberia. Determined to find a way to save herself, Lina begins to draw the camp in secret, keeping a journal about their daily struggle. She hopes to somehow pass these messages on to her father, who has been sentenced to death at a different prison camp. Her art and her writing are all that are keeping her spirit alive, but will they be enough?

Cameron, W. Bruce,

Lucas Ray’s life changes when a sweet abandoned puppy approaches him on the street. Immediately smitten, Lucas decides to defy his apartment building’s no pet policy and brings the newly named Bella home. As Lucas tries to keep her a secret, the two form a loving bond. But pit bulls are banned in Denver and when Bella is discovered, Lucas must reluctantly send her to a foster home over 400 miles away. Undeterred by either the distance between them or the laws of man, Bella refuses to stay at the foster home and sets out to find her way back to Lucas.
