If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times—the book was better! There's nothing like debating the differences between a favorite book and its translation to the screen. But if you don't know your beloved series is coming out as a movie, or that the fun looking preview you saw was adapted from a book, how can you join the debate? The library is here to the rescue! Here we will be exploring the movie adaptations soon to hit your local theatres and give you the chance to read before you view.

Coming This February

Michael Moynihan’s Lords of Chaos provides an in depth look at the black metal music culture of 1990’s northern Europe and how it spawned a shocking spree of church arsons and murders in Norway.

Every year, twenty fighters meet in southern Indiana to participate in the Donnybrook, a three day bare knuckle fighting tournament with a $100,000 cash prize. Cheered on by a rowdy, drunken crowd who bet on their skills, those who participate must engage in brutal brawls for a chance at the cash. But there’s more on the line than money and reputation for a few of these fighters.

Kawashima Masayuki seems to have the perfect life: a successful career, a loving wife, a beautiful child. But he increasingly finds himself overcome with the desire to stab his infant daughter. Horrified by this instinct, he decides the only rational thing to do is to take these wishes out on a hired sex worker. But his intended victim may be just as unhinged as he is, and she won’t go down without a fight.
