Read It First! Film Adaptations Headed to Theatres Near You. July 2017 Edition

If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times—the book was better! There's nothing like debating the differences between a favorite book and its translation to the screen. But if you don't know your beloved series is coming out as a movie or that the fun looking preview you saw was adapted from a book, how can you join the debate? The Library to the rescue! Here we will be exploring the movie adaptations soon to hit your local theatres and give you the chance to read before you view.

From the Land of the Moon 

In Milena Agus’ novella, an unnamed narrator relates the life story of her recently deceased grandmother.  Forcibly wed to an older man, the grandmother lived an unhappy life in her native Sardinia. After suffering several miscarriages and kidney stones, she was sent to a spa for her health. There she met and had a passionate affair with a kind, but already married, man. After returning home, she gave birth to a son whom she always believed to be the result of her one moment of love. While renovating her grandmother’s apartment, however, the narrator discovers a notebook that throws everything she thinks she knows into question.
