Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan takes over the top spot on the Los Angeles Times Fiction Hardcover List for the week of October 29, 2017, while What Happened by Hillary Rodham Clintons regains number one on the Hardcover Nonfiction List.

Debuting on the Hardcover Fiction List this week are Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, Fresh Complaint by Jeffrey Eugenides, and The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman.  Wonder by R. J. Palacio is back in the Fiction top ten 156 weeks after first entering.  New to Hardcover Nonfiction List are Grant by Ron Chernow, Life Beyond Amazing by David Jeremiah, Code Girls by Liza Mundy, Blue Ocean Shift by W. Chan Kim & Renee Mauborgne and The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump by Bandy X. Lee & Robert Jay Lifton.
