LAPL Reads: Best of 2019

Sheryn Morris, Librarian, Literature & Fiction,
best of 2019 books wrapped up in a bow

From all of us at the Los Angeles Public Library, at Central Library and the 72 branches, we are pleased to present the best books of 2019 as selected by our staff, who volunteered their recommendations. Since 2011 LAPL Reads has offered books in four categories: Children, Teen, Fiction and Non-Fiction. This year another category has been added, Graphic Novels, which includes books for children, teens, and adults. For 2019, our staff has outdone itself with more books and a greater variety. All of us continue to read books published in 2019. I have a stack of ten books waiting to be read, with a possible best book among them, but there was a deadline. We hope there is at least one book, or more, that will make you want to read on and on.

For a last-minute holiday gift, there is nothing like a book, and one of our selections might be perfect.
