Bruce Lee died tragically young at the age of 32 of cerebral edema but his legacy lives on. He was an American martial artist, actor and director known primarily for his work in such films as Enter the Dragon and Fists of Fury. Lee was also a dedicated martial arts teacher and a lifelong student of philosophy. He is responsible for creating the martial art Jeet Kune Do and through his work both on and off screen, is considered to be one of the most influential and well-known martial artists of all time.
This Thursday, July 20, Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter, and Sharon Lee, a cultural anthropologist, will present a live podcast at the Central Library. They will discuss the art and philosophy of the legendary martial artist and how he continues to captivate new generations of fans. July 20th marks the 44th anniversary of Lee’s death as well as the one-year anniversary of the Bruce Lee Podcast. Join us at 6 p.m. in the Taper Auditorium for this special event.
