Currently on display on Lower Level 1 of Central Library's atrium, as part of the visual arts element of the Poetic Voices of the Muslim World series, is a lushly illustrated traveling exhibit of 18 panels featuring photography and calligraphic text as well as passages from the writings of many classic and contemporary poets including Rumi, Hafiz, and Adonis.  This free exhibit will appear in five other cities as a tie-in to the Poetic Voices of the Muslim World series of talks and performances.  The series was developed by Poets House and City Lore and is presented in partnership with Los Angeles Public Library, the American Library Association, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.
