Meet with Georgy Urushadze, CEO of the Bolshaia Kniga, or Big Book prize, and the Kniguru Awards for literature written in the Russian language, to discuss contemporary Russian literature, awards, and the future of publishing. The Big Book Prize is the annual literary award for the best book of any genre written in Russian. Launched in 2006 and awarding a prize of 3 million rubles to the winner, it is the largest literary award in Russia and the second largest in the world, falling just behind the Nobel Prize for Literature. Kniguru is the competition for best literary works for children and teens.
