Description:

Susan Olsen will share her studies on the origins and development of papermaking in the place of its birth­–the land of China.  Using a PowerPoint presentation, Susan will discuss the early origins beginning in Neolithic times and coursing through the flowering of calligraphy, the book, painting and printing in first millennium.  This program will be followed by a demonstration of the artist’s unique papermaking process, which has roots in ancient China.
