"This story about the Lovings' courage and determination is enough to make viewers care deeply about a legal decision"--Mother Jones.  Join us for a viewing of the documentary THE LOVING STORY, a definitive account of Loving v. Virginia--the landmark 1967 Supreme Court decision that legalized interracial marriage.    The film by Nancy Buirski is the winner of several film festival awards.  This first person testimony takes us behind the scenes of the legal challenges and the emotional turmoil that they entailed, documenting a seminal moment in history and reflecting a timely message of marriage equalityin a personal, human love story.   This presentation is part of our three year series Created Equal:  America's Civil Rights Struggle, which is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities to encourage community Discussion of America's Civil rights history.  NEH has partnered with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
