Film on U.S. Abolitionist Movement

Saturday, January 25, 2014

2:00pm to 5:15pm

Join us for a viewing of “The Abolitionists.”  This PBS  movie shows how a small group of reformers in the 1830s began fighting for the emancipation of millions of African Americans at a time when slavery was one of the most powerful economic and political forces in the U.S.    This film is three hours long.  There will be a 15 minute break at midpoint for rest and refreshments.  This program is co-sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Gilder-Lehrman Institute.
