A re-imagination of Euripides' Medea transported to Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. With her husband Jason and companion Tita in tow, Medea crosses into the United States illegally to escape a past filled with betrayal. Once here, she is caught in a struggle to adapt to the new country and to keep her family from breaking apart. Excerpts for this reading will depict the character of Tita. (Tragedy. Ages 17+. Presented in English.)

Center Theatre Group is bringing four stories to you with the help of local arts organizations and libraries. This theatre tour is a part of CTG’s The Shop initiative that provides all residents throughout Boyle Heights the chance to express creativity through workshops, readings and more.
