“Robbery decoy” weeps in court
September 7, 1948 Tuesday
Tears roll down the cheeks of Beverly Slover, 18, after she and her husband, George, pleaded guilty to assault charges in the robbery of a navy seaman. She assertedly picked up the seaman in her car, then later took in her husband, who pretended to be another hitchhiker. After a while George struck seaman with a blackjack, it was charged.

Two suspects - and an innocent child

While their youngest child, Rennie, 1, plays blissfully, Mrs. Leota Henry smokes a cigarette and weeps, and her husband, Alfred, gapes in surprise after police arrested the couple as suspected in the robbery of a cafe on West Pico Street. Police said they found some of loot in their room.
