Small Business Entrepreneurship: Doing Business in L.A.

The Mayor's Office of Economic Development and the Los Angeles Public Library will be hosting FREE workshops at various branches across the city on a diverse array of topics pertinent to today's small business owner.  From starting your own business, to gaining access to capital, to planning for long-term success, these workshops will provide insightful information as well as help you connect to resources provided by the City of Los Angeles and regional partners that assist with small business development.

Make sense of the Chaos! Learn how to compare loan programs and figure out what type of loan is right for you and your business.
 
Join us for an evening discussion on different methods and platforms which will assist entrepreneurs in gaining access to capital. Additonally, we will highlight how small business owners in Los Angeles can obtain funds to help with purchasing inventory and equipment, hiring additional employees, expanding your space, and more.

SCORE volunteers will be available in the Business & Econonics Department to provide one-on-one small business counseling for anyone operating a small business or thinking of starting one.

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship.  Many of SCORE LA's volunteers have owned or still own successful businesses - others come from high-level management positions; directors and VPs of Fortune 500 companies, owners and presidents of retail chains, manufacturing companies, distributors and franchisors.
