The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) –located on the Santa Monica College Campus — has partnered with the Los Angeles Public Library, West Los Angeles Regional Branch to provide a two-hour workshop to teach interested residents of the Westside community how to develop a strong foundation for building their own successful business. Participants learn how to brainstorm and develop a company’s mission and vision statement. Then transform and integrate these aspects of these statements into strategic goals.
The SBDC normally charges $25 per person to attend these and other training and support workshops. However, this Entrepreneurship: Principles and Practice workshop will be “free” to the public on a one-time basis and will be held in the Community Room of the West L.A. Regional Branch at 11360 Santa Monica Blvd. (on the corner of Purdue) on Friday, May 17, 2013, starting at 2:00 PM. Public parking is available across the street at from the library (also located on Purdue). Reservations are recommended since seating is limited to the first 60 people.
