On Oct. 24, Granada Hills Branch Library hosted a party open to the public to celebrate its 50th Anniversary of service. A representative from Councilmember Mitchell Englander's Office issued a Certificate of Recognition to the branch.
In October the Los Angeles Public Library received an extraordinary collection of maps, thanks to real estate agent, Matthew Greenberg. Greenbery had been retained by the heirs of local map collector John Feathers to clear Feathers’ Mt. Washington home befor eit was demolished.
In its 2012 Best of L.A. issue, the L.A. Weekly has named the Library Store the best gift shop in Los Angeles. The store is located in the Central Library at 630 W. Fifth St, in downtown L.A.
