Children's Literature Department Class Visits & Field Trips

Grades K-5: Thursday and Friday mornings at 10:00 & 11:00am. Includes a half hour docent-led tour of Central Library and a half hour storytime in the KLOS Story Theater Call 213-228-7055 to make a reservation.

Preschool classes: Wednesday mornings at 10:30 or 11:00am. Includes stories, songs, fingerplays, and more. Call 213-228-7250 to make a reservation.

Teachers have the option to pre-arrange any of the following: Call 213-228-7250 to make a reservation.

  • Selection Requests - Librarians will pull books and materials in advance of your visit to support your lesson plan, assignment, or class project. (Any grade)
  • Book-talks - Quick previews of great books on any subject or genre…just let us know! (Any grade)
  • 30 Minute Library Skills Workshop - Includes a department orientation, special focus on the subjects you are covering in class, a computer catalog demonstration, & an overview of important resources and how to use them.
