Art of Coloratura by Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera

On Saturday, November 14th the Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera performed the Art of Coloratura in the Taper Auditorium. This program included highlights from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi, Leo Delibes, Benjamin Britten, George Frideric Handel and more. 

In this short video Linda Jackson explains the definition of coloratura and sings “The Bell Song” by Leo Delibes from the opera Lakme. Hainign Ren sings “Piangero” from George Frideric Handel’s Giulio Cesare opera and Leona Levenson sings “Let the Florid Music Praise” from Benjamin Britten’s On This Island song cycle.
