August 18, 2013 Los Angeles Times Best Sellers Available at the Library

David Kelly, Senior Librarian, Literature & Fiction Department,
Top two bestsellers book covers: Fiction - The Cuckoo's Calling and Nonfiction - Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazereth

The Los Angeles Times Hardcover Fiction Best Seller list remains essentially unchanged with Robert Galbraith's The Cuckoo's Calling holding steady in the #1 spot.  & Sons by David Gilbert, a novel about a J. D. Salinger-like author and his messy relationships with his three sons is the only newcomer to the fiction list.

Zealot, Reza Aslan's controversial book on the life of Jesus Christ is back in the number one spot on the Hardcover Nonfiction list after dropping to number three last week. 114 weeks after debuting on the nonfiction list, Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand is back in the top ten again.  With 121 copies in the Los Angeles Public Library system and only 5 holds, now is the time to reserve a copy if you haven't read the book.

Click on any title on the list to place a hold on an item free of charge.  You will need to know your library card number and the last four digits of the phone number associated with your card. After placing the hold select the library location to which you want the item sent and we will notify you when it is available for pick up.
